Energy Audits are an assessment of energy saving opportunities and their associated economic values. They serve as a tool for decision making for reducing energy consumption and costs. Depending on client needs, they may include any or all of the following: • Utility bill review • Air infiltration assessment • Insulation levels survey • Blower door test • Duct leakage test • Major appliance survey • Minor appliance survey • Ductwork inspection and assessment • Heating/cooling equipment survey With this information and analysis, the client is given a menu of opportunity which outlines the energy savings opportunities and the relative cost associated with the opportunities so the client can make an educated choice about how to proceed with their energy efficiency upgrades. For simplicity, Green Endeavors offers the following energy audit packages. Clients may choose one of these packages or Green Endeavors can customize a package that best meets their needs and budget. The Basic Audit: A visual 'walk through' audit at which Green Endeavors look for obvious potential energy and water savings opportunities. Item's reviewed include thermostat, age of HVAC syste, windows, major appliances, water leaks, water heater, and basic lighting. The Complete Audit: An expansion of the Basic Audit, the Complete Audit includes taking measurements of existing conditions for a more thorough list of recommendations. In addition to the items listed in the Basic Audit, the Complete Audit also measures insulation levels, measures water leakage amounts, measures appliance energy usage, and visually inspects for air leakage. The Building Performance Audit: As the most thorough energy and water audit, the Building Performance Audit includes all items in the Basic and Complete Audits plus duct leakage testing and blower door testing for air infiltration.
